When to Invest in Your Community

One thing that sets small businesses apart from the big corporate world is our ability to support one another. We encourage growth within our own communities. Today's topic is when to invest in your community and I am not talking about when to spend money on small paper ads, events, or chambers. I am talking about putting forth efforts to help other companies by providing them with your services for free.

A great way to market yourself is word of mouth and one of the best ways to do that is to provide people with examples of your work. When we first founded Goose Global Media, we had no clients to convert to our company. All of us were starting with an idea and hoping it would grow. We relied on the people of our community to allow business trades. We help your business with marketing, and you help our business by allowing us to use the designs as examples for potential clients.

If you have the opportunity to do this with your business, I highly suggest it. Another way is to trade services. Let's say I am building a physical building for our marketing agency, and I need painting done on the office walls. We could build a social media platform up for a local painter in exchange for a room to be painted. Not only are you establishing a potential client for the future but you are creating a working relationship that may help you in the future.

How could you use this in your business?
